Date: Friday, 23rd June 2017, from 12:00 to 17:00h.
Location: Faculty of Civil Engineering, Silesian University of Technology, Poland.
Summary: The training Seminar on Structural Analysis was given by Marcin Górski, Szymon Dawczynski, Rafał Krzywoń, Leszek Szojda. It consisted on laboratory tests performed on geopolymer cylindrical samples in triaxial apparatus. The main component of tested geopolymer was tungsten mine waste mud. Sample was tested in triaxial stress state. The horizontal stress was constant and was equal to 6MPa. The sample was destroyed by increasing vertical stress. The training seminar was followed by a visit to on-site visit of revitalized “Gliwice” mine including post-mining spoil tip. Visit to “Sośnica” mine. Marcin Górski described shortly the history of visited places and indicated the changes in visited area through last years. The team discussed the variety of possibilities of re-usage of industrial wastes.
